The BEST of Dating Sites

Click here to give eHarmony a try. I’ve tried many dating sites out there, and I honestly think it’s head and shoulders above the rest. It’s been the most effective site for me, and it’s also been the most convenient.

(Note: the eHarmony links on my site are affiliate links, which means that if you sign up with them, I will get a portion of your sign-up fee–at no extra cost to you. I decided to create this affiliate site only after years of great service from eHarmony. It’s a product I can wholeheartedly recommend from personal experience. So thank you for following my affiliate link and finding out for yourself if this site is for you.)

The following text is a transcript of the video.

I’ve used a lot of online dating sites. I can’t say I’ve used all of them—some of the niche sites like Jdate and MeetChristianSingles.com, for example, don’t really apply to me—but I’ve tried a lot. And I’ve used all the big ones. In this video, I’m going to describe the evolution I went through when I started using online dating, and how I ended up deciding on what I think is the best dating site. I’m hoping that by describing my thought process, I can help you if you’re still debating which online site to use.

The first profile I created was on okcupid.com. I figured it made sense to start with the free site first and see if I liked it. Well, I met a few girls through okcupid, but my response rate was terrible. If I sent out, oh, a hundred emails, I might get…ten responses. Actually, there are a lot of guys for whom ten percent isn’t bad. But I had to spend so much time writing emails that it wasn’t worth the time.

Well, I started to get the idea that maybe if I tried a pay site, the girls would be more likely to respond. I figured, with a free site, they haven’t paid any money, so they haven’t really invested much in the site. But if they’re spending a little money, they got more incentive to reply. So I tried match.com. My response rate went up instantly. I decided that my theory—that pay sites have better response rates than free sites—definitely had something to it. But it still wasn’t good enough. It just took too much time to write all those emails.

Let me tell you about how I tried handling these emails, because I tried a few different things. First, I followed the typical beginner method. I wrote a profile, put up the best pictures I had on my computer at the time, and searched for women in my area. I picked out all the best-looking girls, read their profile in detail, and sent them each a well thought-out, personalized messages. Nobody responded. So I sent out more emails to more hot women. Same result. It didn’t take long to realize that this was an inefficient use of my time. It took hours. First I had to search for the girls, then I had to read their profiles for pertinent facts, then pick out certain facts and interpret them in a way that was somehow interesting, unique, or funny—each message was like a goddamn little research paper! And all this work for emails that sometimes went unread. So the next thing I did was to try a few “bulk” emails. I would write one email that I thought was really funny, interesting, and would apply to just about anyone. And I searched for a bunch of women and sent them all the exact same message. This was a lot more efficient timewise, since I didn’t have to keep writing these little research papers. But the response rate was abysmal. What I ended up doing is combining these two methods, so that I had a bulk email that I’d send, but each time I’d write one or two personalized sentences, so I was minimizing the effort I had to put in, while still giving each woman a message that felt unique to her. On sites like okcupid and match.com, because the only way you have of contacting the girls is with an email, I believe this method is about the best you can do.

That’s when I tried eHarmony. And once I did, I never went back.

eHarmony is the site that I use. And the reason is because it’s the site where I’ve had the most success, and the easiest success, by far.

For one thing, eHarmony is one of, if not THE biggest dating site out there. As far as having the most members. And on top of that, eHarmony actually has more women than men! A positive female-to-male ratio of members is almost unheard of in a dating site. But eHarmony attracts a lot of women because it’s a more relationship-oriented site.

The thing I like most about eHarmony is the way you communicate with your matches. I’ve talked about how much work I used to put into writing good emails on okcupid and match.com. Well, on eHarmony, you don’t have to send an email right away. They have a system they call Guided Communication that you go through before you start emailing the online babes. And the thing I love most about Guided Communication is…it’s convenient. It’s fast and easy. And it ensures that by the time I write an email to a woman, I know she’s already interested, and she almost always responds. What this means is that I spend a lot LESS time on eHarmony.com than I used to spend on other dating sites, but I have a much HIGHER response rate.

Now, eHarmony is more expensive than many other sites; I’m not sure, but I think it’s one of the most expensive sites out there. But when you get down to, it’s still very reasonable. A yearlong membership costs twenty bucks a month. Twenty bucks: that’s like three or four beers, or one decent lunch. And I actually like the fact that this is an expensive site. And I’ll tell you why. First of all, it attracts high-quality women who are successful and serious about finding a relationship. And the fact that they’ve made a greater financial investment in the site means that they take their membership seriously. They actually take the time to read their messages and check out your profile.

As a side-note, this also means that the women on eHarmony are real women. Free sites and less expensive sites tend to attract a lot of fake profiles: like spammers or Nigerian scams.

One last difference about eHarmony is that you can’t search for girls. The downside to this is you have to wait for eHarmony to send you new matches, which it does every day. But there’s a sneaky upside to this, which is that you avoid one of the huge problems of other sites, like okcupid and match.com. On those sites, everybody sends messages to the best-looking girls. And those girls get so many messages they can’t even read them all. But on eHarmony, you can only communicate with your matches, which means there’s less competition—especially for the most attractive girls on the site.

Long story short, when I switched to eHarmony, my response rate went up dramatically, the highest it had ever been, while the amount of time I had to spend writing emails went down just as dramatically. And the women I met were consistently attractive, mature, and compatible with me. Bonus.

Now this is just my opinion. You should form your own, because your experience might be different. And don’t get me wrong: okcupid and match.com are totally fine sites. But if you’re serious about starting a relationship with a great woman, I think eHarmony is your best bet. I’ve probably included a link to it somewhere on this page, so scroll down and I’m sure you’ll find it. Good luck and remember—the love of your life might have a profile on eHarmony.

So once again, click here if you want to give eHarmony a try. I predict you’ll be happy with their service.
